The Ivy Meets MacKenzie-Childs for an End of Summer Tea

Before I let myself get swept up in pumpkins and plaid, I wanted one more morning of summer color! So I threw a little end-of-summer tea. Just for a few quiet minutes before the carpool lines and lunch packing took over again, inspired by two brands that have zero business looking this good together: The Ivy and MacKenzie-Childs.

The Ivy's pottery is all bright, hand-painted color, and MacKenzie-Childs' Courtly Check is about as black-and-white as it gets. It's the most whimsical, happiest contrast I've ever seen, and it felt like the perfect send-off to the season before I dive headfirst into the next season (which is going to be all earth tones, terracotta, olive, mustard, all the fall colors!)

If you're a mom with kids in school, you already know: the first few weeks back are their own special kind of CHAOS, but it can also give you back those quiet mornings that are just so good for the soul! Even twenty minutes with a good cup of tea or coffee and a table that makes you happy to look at counts. This one's for that. Pour yourself something warm on a crisp morning, sit down before the pickup line calls your name again, and let the table do a little of the celebrating for you!

Shop the Tablescape

Here's everything on the table, piece by piece, so you can recreate it (or steal just a corner of it — a mixed-check napkin and a colorful mug will get you 80% of the way there):

Bamboo Utensils

Roberto Bordall Plates

Bordallo Pinherio Charger Plates

The Ivy mugs & saucers - I love to use the saucer as little dessert or appetizer plates!

Table & chairs - Mine are old and from Target, but this set is super similar!

What's Next

I'm ready for crisp air, football, fall colors, and pumpkin spice! Make sure to register for my newsletter on the homepage to get a first glimpse at what I have planned for this fall.

Let's turn every day into a reason to celebrate, even a random Tuesday in September.

From my little family to yours – Happy Everything!

xo, Nicci
