Looking Back - A Calm, Cozy Nursery

Moving from one home to another can be a whirlwind of emotions, especially when it comes to our little ones! This is exactly what I experienced as we transitioned Gia from her beloved nursery at our old house to a new room that was begging for a makeover. She's been asking for her 'big girl bed' for months now and we have finally decided to take the plunge and move her from her 'cribby'. While there’s a sense of excitement in this new chapter, there’s also a bittersweet feeling as my heart aches knowing that she's no longer my tiny baby girl in a crib.
I spent months picking out a crib and finally settled on this one (despite the fact that it was backordered at the time and wouldn't arrive until after the baby!) and couldn't love it more. This was my next choice, which I also loved! In my early stages two other contenders (before I decided on white!) are here and here!
As I sit down to reflect on this journey, I can't help but reminisce about the memories we created in Gia's nursery. The white walls and muted neutral hues created a calm and serene room that was perfect her and a stunning Jenny Lind crib that cradled her dreams since day one made the space feel so special. I remember sitting in the rocking chair with my big belly just imaging what my baby girl would be like. We filled her baby girl room with love—and lots of cutesy decor!

Now, as we prepare to transform Gia's room into her dreamy big girl room, we’re embracing the idea of change. My goal is to create a space that reflects her growing personality while still maintaining that magical essence of her nursery years. We will still keep lots of pink and would love to incorporate purple as well, as she teeters back and and forth on which is her current favorite color.
I like to include Gia in making some of the decisions for her new big girl room to make sure that she does really love it, but also want some aspects to be a surprise for her. We've began looking at bedding together, but let's just say I will be making the executive decision!
I am SO excited for the adventures the big girl room will bring as we watch Gia transform from a baby to a little girl right before our eyes!
