"Something Blue" Bridal Shower

We threw the sweetest “Something Blue” bridal shower for one of our favorite brides-to-be, and honestly—it was such a special day. The sun was shining, the bubbly was flowing, and the whole setup felt like a little slice of spring magic. I love hosting showers at home, it makes for such a special vibe that's hard to find at a lot of venues.

We kept the vibe elegant but relaxed, with a long wooden farm table dressed up in shades of soft blue, with hints of gold and white. I used beaded glass chargers, gold flatware (always a fave), and the prettiest blue goblets that caught the light just right. My favorite part of this tablescape - each place setting had a custom monogrammed napkin for the bride—her new initials!—finished with a frayed blue ribbon. She got to take them home after the party to use for her own hosting down the road, which felt like such a sweet touch. The gold chiavari chairs pulled everything together perfectly - you can't go wrong with these and I always find myself coming back to them.

The flowers were just beautiful and perfectly accentuated the vintage brass candlesticks that I found on eBay. We served a super fresh spring salad with citrus and set up a bubbly bar with juices and berries so everyone could build their own mimosa. We also had the event catered so it was amazing to have the servers there to not only get the plated meal out to guests, but also to fill glasses and help with clean up. I highly recommend this for showers at home! One of the largest 'cons' to hosting a shower at your home is the extra work (and there is a lot of it!) but this is one thing that I always recommend when hosting a larger shower at home--- so that you can enjoy the day, too!

My mom's backyard was full of sunshine, floating butterflies (literally—we hung them!), and so many happy moments. Another detail was banner that read “Together is a beautiful place to be" which was a nod to the bride-to-be's new life as a wife, but also for all of us together celebrating her! When it comes to celebrating these huge milestone moments, little details make all the difference!
