The Perfect Poolside Lunch Table

When summer rolls around, we spend as many meals outside as possible! It doesn’t have to be fancy—just something simple, cheerful, and easy to pull together, especially when kids are involved. That’s exactly what I had in mind with this fun & unbreakable outdoor tablescape.

Everything on this table is unbreakable, which means I can actually enjoy dinner without worrying about someone knocking over a glass or dropping a plate! The star of the setup? These adorable striped melamine plates. They come in a set of 4, with all different colors—and the scalloped edges make them feel a little extra special. They’re lightweight, dishwasher-safe, and totally kid-proof, which makes them a staple for us all summer long! Not to mention absolutely adorable.

Of course I had to add the acrylic drinkware in matching colors! I mixed these cute striped cups with solid colored wine 'glasses'. The kids love picking their “color” each time we use them and who doesn't like drinking orange juice out of a 'wine glass'!?

For the centerpiece, I kept it simple with faux boxwood balls and a fresh orchid in a white planter. It brings a little greenery to the table without attracting bugs—and I love that it doesn’t compete with all the color happening in the plates and glasses. The natural wood table brings just the right amount of warmth and texture, so I skipped the tablecloth altogether. Let's be honest, it would have strawberry and chocolate stains anyways! I was hesitant to order this table because the price point is so low, but we love it! It is perfect for what we need and 8 chairs easily fit around it.

White bamboo flatware finishes it all off. It’s clean, easy, and doesn’t distract from the fun mix of colors on the table. I’m always looking for little ways to make weeknight dinners feel a little more special, and this setup totally hit the mark! We had a fun night with college salad, burgers and ice cream cones for the kids--this set up was perfect!
